Southern Circuit Destinations

The Southern Circuit is the gateway to the beautiful Mason Bay, and features side trips to the summits of Mt. Rakeāhua and Rocky Mountain. Regarded as a remote, challenging tramp, you’ll need good fitness, a well-prepared itinerary, and appropriate equipment and gear. You can get there on foot from the North West Circuit, from Halfmoon Bay via North Arm or by boat, with us!

Locations include Freshwater River, Fred’s Camp and Rakeāhua, all serviceable by water taxi. Doughboy and Mason Bay can be reached by tramping or by flights.
